Vintage : Old but Gold !!

         Vintage Evergreen

The fashion industry every year has to release new art and opera about how to dress.

But there is one section that never knows the sunset.

It’s is all time ready behind the mountain of creativity playing hide and seek; it’s the era of Vintage that never disappears.

In tough times of outbreaks and financial crisis, the new way to express yourself is to recycle clothes.

The mindset is to keep your head focused on your job, lucky if you still have it, and make money and try to save it.; never know what’s going to happen next.

Everything passes in the second moment; it’s not necessary, includes Fashion.

Lockdown and impossibility to show up like before compromises your creativity to buy new clothes for the new autumn and winter season.

Fashion is still upgrading but never regrets his roots.

The story of Sophia Amoruso, I don’t know if you read it or heard it, it’s pretty famous, by the way, show us the power of the vintage industry.

She comes from nowhere, business talking, and starting with no money, she began to build his emperor.

She worked as a shop assistant in a clothing shop and at the university to check the university student’s ID.

She started to study by herself how to sell second-hand clothes on eBay, and soon after, she realized her dream to become the Girlboss of Fashion.

She created his brand name, “NastyGal.” And from 0, she made more than 200 million dollars.

It’s plenty of stories about t Vintage, and the Fashion industry knows it!

Here in Italy, there is a rule. Never throw away clothest; it will come back trendy once again.

Italy, the epicenter of art and creativity, and being concern that we don’t have the same power as the USA, we have to create the famous MADE IN ITALY and try to sell abroad.

The Maison “Etro,” an Italian industry, put Vintage as the principal basement to develop his roots and branches.

The luxury idea to create something new and original has never forgotten the principal motto to stay eternal.

Every six months, we have to change our habits and clothes, but it seems the Vintage we can keep them without fading away.

Even the English Designer Paul Smith seems to marry this idea of art.

If you look at his dress, he tries to give the man an Identity of elegance and

Sport at the same time with the conditioning of England tradition.

The success of the famous street “Portobello Road” in Notting Hill district, in London, is linked with Vintage clothes, being very busy, every Saturday, for more than a century.

During the world war and the general financial crisis, the industry tried to recycle clothes in our wardrobe to take care of our mood and style.

In every business, the trend is to become successful as long as possible, but we know that, like in a stock market, being with positive trends all the time is almost impossible.

It implies keeping your brand loyalty with your philosophy but trying to elaborate and making original creation all the time.

If we move in the charity world made of second-hand clothes,  the leader campaign Oxfam wisely sees the world.

After many clothes’ requests, not brand new anymore, they invest in Vintage, increasing sales by more than 400%.

If we look at being influential and respected, the Jackie O’ style doesn’t know the end.

With simplicity and humbleness, she gave a personification of the next Woman in the modern world.

Even Melania Trump du Donald Trump’s inauguration speech, she copied from JFK’s wife.

What will happen when a celebrity like Kim Kardashian swaps from luxury clothes to vintage clothes?

An influencer like her did it already and move the business in the other direction.

Behind of green mass movement of Greta Thunberg  and at the recent disaster and fire in Australia made by the constant increase of emergency climate change, also the choice of how to dress, today has his importance

They do to the new Generation. They choose to wear Vintage not only to be trendy but to become like, during the ’60s and ’70s, a message of protest against climate change and pollution!

Everything is changing during this 2020, but instead of creating new collections, it seems like the Fashion protects itself from Vintage clothes’ sure success.

                                            Evergreen and always cool!

The personification of the capable politician!

Jacinda Arden

The personification of the capable politician!

At his last appearances and political gatherings, we embrace and kiss each other not because people are irresponsible, but because there is no longer any need for the mask and social distancing.

New Zealand, led by the enterprising and kind-minded Jacinda Arden, flourished by defeating the coronavirus twice, with only 25 deaths to mourn.

Elected for the second time, the kiwi population believes that she protects them from the dangers the surrounding countries face.

“If all nations had a serious and capable politician like you, the world would go in the right direction,” says one of your fans.

She has faced and gone through crisis after crisis, including COVID-19, the volcanic eruption that killed 21 people, and the reckless attack on mosques by the fringe.

“white supremacy” that killed 51 innocent people.

Immediately afterward, he worked hard, praising zero tolerance towards extremist groups and racism.

However, how did New Zealand win the battle of the pandemic? From the very beginning, Wellington’s goal was neither containment nor slowing down the infection or immunity of the flock, but the immediate total suppression of the virus. The premier played ahead:

  • the blockade of Chinese travelers in early February
  • the closing of borders to non-residents in mid-March
  • quarantine at the borders
  • then carpet swabs
  • contact tracking

On March 23, when the pandemic was still at an early stage, and the infected were only 100 imposed a month of total lockdown, then extended by a week. A strategy that proved successful because the contagion curve approached zero in just two weeks. Despite these data, Ardern decided not to relax the restrictions for Easter in order to “defeat” the disease ultimately. The New Zealand method of “elimination” rather than “containment” is being studied. “Compared to the rest of the world, we have done something incredible,” said the premier.

For the second wave that began in August in the middle of summer, New Zealand chose to immediately implement restrictive measures for almost a week, including severe restrictions on freedom of movement in Auckland, a city affected by new infections, and travel restrictions to the rest of the country. Going into detail, Auckland faced with a level-three lockdown.

Only exits were allowed for fundamental reasons and non-essential businesses, including restaurants and bars, were closed in those days. Here lies the heart of the New Zealand model, and it is based on two pillars: intervene quickly, quickly and clearly, and rely on direct linear communication.

“Second wave” defeat

As we have seen in the second wave, the New Zealand government has chosen softer and more targeted interventions. The mission, it seems, has succeeded again. The epidemiological curve approached zero within a few weeks.

A model that works as in medicine, the early diagnosis and immediate intervention before the situation start to degenerate and uncontrollable.

These are some of the young leader’s many victories, cutting her salary by 20% while remaining in solidarity with her fellow citizens who have lost their jobs and are in difficulty.

While in Italy, the first revolts begin, on the other side of the globe who have the courage and hope to create opportunities and a decent future thanks to the skills and honesty of which every politician and worker should take note.

The real honest politician is the capable politician, said Giordano Bruno,

Maybe this time, we found someone “Top.”

Law and Order

Law and order
they say in America, “law and order” in these moments to defeat society’s inequalities.
In times of unrest, riots, a financial and civil crisis, the only remedy is the strength of reason and law.
That law that was so dear to Falcone and Borsellino and which they were managing to defeat the cancer of civilization, Mafia.
Same Mafia defeated during the fascism by the prefect Cesare Mori in Sicily and then resurrected after 45′.
After losing my job in London, I ventured to work in a restaurant, “San Lorenzo,” where I had the good fortune to meet a very dear friend and prestigious journalist of “The Guardian” <
He came and sat down at his table to eat, submerged by documents and papers.
He told me that he was busy writing a book-interview dedicated to a Mexican general who had managed to defeat the Mafia and criminality using fascist methods.
He told me that knowing him, he was a terrible and intransigent person, of other times, but at the same time useful and competent in his work, reaching his goal with success.
Libidine also reached by the former mayor of
New York Rudolph Giuliani was supported by Giovanni Falcone during police work by crime in the Big Apple.
Well, you reached the order quota using the method “Zero Tolerance” zero tolerance, having no mercy on criminals and delinquents.
As well as the “broken windows theory” theorem where there is degradation, there is more and more, and if there is cleanliness, people are encouraged to keep cleaner and cleaner.
To end up to the present day with the coronavirus health crisis, wherein China, the pandemic forerunner, managed to get out entirely by asking people to sacrifice and cooperate.
For the non-contributors to the case, methods of other times ,with the end of being executed instantly should not be rendered in vain the imprisonment ordered from above.
John Kennedy, in his inaugural speech, asked his fellow citizens to “Do not ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for it and to make it better.”
According to historical reminiscences, it is the only way to get out of crises and make democracy; however, full of problems, the only way to keep freedom available to all.
Always with the support of Justice.

I feel like

I feel like …

In this historical moment of isolation, time to reflect, there has been enough, even too much.
Reflect on the 30 years that are coming, on the achievements, and to grab.
in between the house walls and the landscapes that overlook the horizon of adventure the time fly inexorably, waiting for new us
During these moments, I think and would like to know, meet, and add friends to my interpersonal pleasures list.
A world that continues to go on without a jockey ready to tame him and make him run in the right direction.
Many try, but the result is just doping of greed and incompetence.
On the values and rights that a state should be founded, all this is missing, leaving us young people, the only hope to escape and assert themselves in distant countries, where meritocracy counts, education, and culture make it the pillars of a just democracy.
By now, everything is homogeneous, almost everything is the same, but if you invest in culture, in languages on which you can interact on several fronts, all this will be rewarded with interests.
You have to reinvent yourself somehow, and maybe the biggest challenge is to put kindness and willingness in the first place.
To put yourself at the service of others in any way, to contribute to improve and improve yourself in a time limit that we do not know, unforeseen events of life that you find around the corner and that can radically change your habits and your possibilities.
All this must be taken into account, finding the right people at your side that encourages you to do better and help you when needed, not always, but when the need afflicts us, in comfort, in a caress, in an economic promise, and to return what we are given daily.
In this small paragraph, the crazy desire is to live with intensity, passion, and curiosity.
Knowing without being superior, traveling without getting lost, writing without getting bored, singing, and shouting to all the enthusiasm the song you are there and continue fighting for what is needed.
Not to waste the time of this metronome that dictates the moments to share with joy and serenity.

Aimed at those who are there and will be there later on.

For you, for us, for all those, I love and protect with care...

                            Fabio

Life can be …

                                                           Life can be…

 Life can be…

Life can be rainbow after rain…

Life can be sunshine after night and sunrise, after all…

Life can be a mirage after a walk spends in the desert…

Life can be a star during a night in the darkness…

Life can be comfort after a cramp

Life can be a relief after the pain

Life can be healing after the disease

Life can be water after the thirst

Life can be food after the hunger

Life can be a new birth after death.

Life can be US after HIM/HER.

A cover.. a wonderful meaning.. always them.. simply Pink floyd

I have always seen the triangle as a symbol of thought and ambition, and I found these elements in Roger’s texts. So then I made a prism out of it because I thought it belonged to the soul of the Floyd”.
Let’s move on to the meaning of the symbol. The entire album is full of meanings, and every single track is to be carefully analyzed and put into a single context. In the meantime, limiting ourselves to the cover, we can explain its meaning in this way: in the front part of the cover, we find, in fact, a prism, on a black background, which illuminated from the left by a light white light, releases on the right a beam of colors, the same of the rainbow. We try to analyze every single part: the white light coming from the left symbolizes life, which illuminates and becomes part of the individual (the prism), which in turn “expels” it in the form of ideas, his ideas, his actions, different (of different colors) but still coming from the same individual. The back of the cover, perhaps the least famous, serves to give a conclusion to the whole: the beam of colors (therefore of ideas) continues and ends in an inverted prism (therefore it returns to the individual) and flows into the shaft of white light on the opposite side, creating a sort of continuity of the mechanism. #pinkfloyd

Dove sei??

Stai sicura che li troverei fra altri mille intorno a me
Ricordi troppi
Sul divano quando il fumo sale piano
Occhi rossi
E io guardando dentro questo vecchio specchio
Ho detto solo “stai pronto”
Ora gonfia il petto presentale il conto
Rimettiti l’elmetto e vatti a riprendere il tuo mondo
Ti devo dire “No” quasi quasi ti sfioro mentre gli altri scompaiono

the other half

One day Zeus, wanting to punish the man without destroying him, cut him in two. Since then, each of us is the symbol of a man { hekastos oun Hemon estin anthropou symbolon}, the half that seeks the other half, the corresponding symbol. To heal the ancient wound, Zeus, after inflicting it, sent Love:

Love among the gods, the friend of men, the doctor, the one who leads back to the ancient condition. Trying to make one what he is two, Love tries to medicate human nature.

Since then, men have joined together and thus generate, no longer by union with the earth, but by a mutual union. Mediator between men and the gods, Love intervenes at the limit of the human.
He who touches this madness fascinates us and induces us to that progressive surrender of ourselves that makes possible the liberation of that madness of which Love is surrounded, where meaning plays with non~sense and where no new word is given except by liberating at every moment the ancient madness.

By finding the other half, you will reach your goal

Undress your soul- Weekly Fashion update -each Sunday

Undress your soul – new edition- new style – new weekly fashion portfolio 2020

It’s late, I finished work a few hours ago, and after I read some news from the most influential newspaper in the world (U.S.A and Italy), I want to introduce a new service for the follower.

From today 23 August 2020, every Sunday will be dedicated to fashion and street life dressing for the baby, young and adult.

After my long experience in London (almost six years) I decided to share with you a way to express your self through a dress code for work and casual time.

I’m not a fashion designer, but the way I created and edit myself, it’s a bit impressive.

Every morning after breakfast, coffee, shower, the big challenge is to drees your self to improve your mood for you and your friends .

With fashion not even wearing expensive clothes, you can make up your day.

Don’t forget my appointment for every Sunday for my magazine “Undress your Soul “

Best wishes and dreams,

Love=umanityrespect

When I proposed the theory of relativity, very few understood me,
and also what I’m going to reveal to you now,
for you to pass it on to mankind,
will come up against the misunderstanding and prejudice of the world.
However, I ask that you guard it for
as long as it takes, years, decades,
until society has progressed enough…
to accept what I’m explaining to you below.
There is a mighty force for which
Science has so far found no formal explanation.
It is a force that understands and manages all the others,
and is also behind any phenomenon
that operates in the universe and has not yet been detected by us.
This universal force is Love.
When scientists were searching for a unified theory of the universe, they forgot the most invisible one
and powerful forces.
Love is Light since it enlightens those who give it and those who receive it.
Love is Gravity because it makes it
that some people feel attracted to others.
Love is Power because it multiplies
the best that is in us, and allows humanity
does not die out in his blind selfishness.
Love reveals and reveals. For Love, one lives and dies.
This force explains everything, and
it gives life meaning in a big way.
That’s the variable we’ve ignored for too long,
maybe because Love scares us,
since it is the only energy in the universe that mankind
hasn’t learned to maneuver at will.
To make Love visible, I made a simple
replacement in my most famous equation.
If instead of E = mc2 we accept that the energy to heal the world
can be achieved through
love multiplied by the speed of light squared,
we will come to the conclusion that Love is
the most powerful force that exists, because it has no limits.
After humanity fails in its use and control
of the other forces in the universe,
who have turned against us, the time has come…
to feed off another kind of energy.
If we want our species to survive,
if we’re going to find meaning in life,
if we’re going to save the world and every sentient being in it,
love is the one and only answer.
Maybe we’re not ready to make a love bomb yet,
an artifact powerful enough to destroy all hatred,
the selfishness, and greed that plague the planet.
However, each individual carries within him or her a small but powerful generator of love whose energy is just waiting to be released.
When we learn to give and receive this universal energy, Lieserl, dear,
we’ll see how Love conquers all,
transcends everything and can everything, because Love is the quintessence of life.
I am deeply sorry I was unable to express what my heart contains,
who all my life has been quietly fighting for you.
Maybe it’s too late to apologize, but since time is relative,
I need to tell you that I love you and that thanks to you I came to the last answer.

The real meaning of the Christian religion

Opinion

I speak for 2.3 billion people who are close to Christianity.
I say close because if they were so influential, the world would be better for the most part.
The meaning of true belief is based on an obsolete and sometimes unconvincing culture.
I support this because the world continues to change rapidly, and the inappropriate use of the media instrumentalizes the true meaning of being a believer.
Fundamental values such as compassion for one’s neighbor, loving one’s neighbor, loving the other as ourselves are values that are now difficult to find within our consciences.
The relationship between tolerance and respect for the rules is very divisive because the value of freedom is used to hurt the other literally.
The extent of the individual’s independence and emancipation is now close to us but far away in most countries and cultures.
Education should be an instrument of mutual coexistence but with features and nuances oriented towards rigor, meritocracy, and competence.
Widening culture to as many people as possible would allow society a considerable income in terms of civic sense and moral success.
The mass media, newspapers, and various shows exalt those who, through their ostentatious visibility and arrogance, set a poor example for young people.
Returning to the true meaning of religion should be that of empathy and mutual work on all fronts to improve their lives both economically and in terms of moral and healthy well-being.
Team-work is of fundamental importance in trying to find a unified and dignified solution.
Most of the jobs that are almost all exploited by the powerful, rebelling against the good is a form of nonconformity and considerable depth.
With this, I want to argue that the working class should row in the same direction united and enthusiastic with the conviction that it is leaving the vile power games and the bad and the honest to climb, albeit exhausting, to the Olympus of distinction and decorum.

A year…

A year like this.
Spent remembering and searching in our hearts for the most beautiful and intimate moments spent with you.
You who have always defended the family, parents, brothers and nephews and nieces with whom you were confronted, and you envied their youth’s freshness.
You who lived of news and experiences lived in all the world’s places thanks to the many jobs and one in particular (flight attendant) that you loved so much.
The journey that took you far away but at the end to your home and your country of origin was always proud.
The childhood friends, always those, protected and helped in the simple life of those who have ever lived there and around, while you have explored, and consumed by the experiences made, you have transmitted the freedom and, the desire to live and fight for their dreams that in part you have realized.
The time to get to know and love each other is sometimes not enough to fully understand and reconcile.
You flew all your life, and this time you didn’t come back while everyone was waiting for you again with a laugh and a hug.
You went away fighting with dignity, without making noise, but shaking everyone in some way.
Thank you for flying with us on this first-class trip first and now, spoiling us again as you always did.
You are there waiting for us with your parents waiting to find us together, to continue to love each other and live in peace. After all, it is unfair to die since we were born, as Anna Magnani said, but it is also true that death’s awareness encourages us to live.

The road to emancipation is becoming increasingly compelling for women.
Being a woman is a way to be independent, daily challenge, and great courage to unhinge all the blocks born and built by the mediocrity and avarice of man.
Having a pulse in decisions and sensitivity is a starting point, not indifferent.
Feminism is a movement that is now passed down through generations pushing towards a definitive consecration.
The gentle sex, however emotionally and genetically fragile it may be, has shown us what it is capable of.
For the less democratic and more fundamentalist countries, being born “of the opposite sex” is a penalty from the beginning and indecipherable suffering.
Many argue that the female sex reaches maturity earlier than the male, and the latter cannot lead a satisfying life without it in every respect.
The movement is accelerating more and more and is becoming viral in this period of uncertainty.
To have found a wise and straightforward path is like a great wave to ride.
The future, in my opinion, looks rosy, and sexism will be swept away by a hurricane of creativity and pragmatism.

We are few days from the celebration of 100 years of women’sright to vote approved on August   26, 1920, according to the 19thamendments of the constitution of the United States, which introduced universal suffrage. It was thanks to the triumph of the Suffragettes that the movement for the emancipation of women was born to guarantee at the other sex the right to vote. The suffragettes had met for the first time as a national movement in 1869, but not in the USA, but in the U.K.

Here the battle was won in two stages: the first in 1918 when the British Parliament gave the green light to the right to vote limited to the wives of heads of families with specific age requirements over 30 years. The second 10 years later, on July 2, 1928, when suffrage was extended to all women in the United Kingdom. When in the U.S., the first state to partially recognize female suffrage was Wyoming in 1869. In the same year, in the U.S., movements similar to English movements were born. Suffragetteswomen used to spread their ideas through rallies, written on the walls or signs with slogans such as “votes for women” or content phrases that praised the leader of the movement. Often these demonstrations were suffocated with violence by the police, and the militants were arrested. The struggle was destined for success, which arrived on July 26, 1920. Article 19 of the American Constitution reads as follows. “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

The wish is not that of a challenge between those who shine more between the sun or moon but of a joint eclipse that makes the sky of life not in darkness but of the high light of passion and common justice.

The risk factor

The risk factor

However, do we want to live this life? Is being lucky enough for us? Or do we want more?
The education proposed to us is undoubtedly that of self-respect, respect for others, and hard work to achieve extraordinary results.
Nevertheless, it is not always enough!
It is about getting involved, traveling, meeting new cultures, different people, and reading enough to be as open-minded as possible.
In these economic and health crises, finding new opportunities is a great goal.
Leaving the comfort zone and facing new adventures is a mentality of those who are not satisfied and want to establish themselves in the highest possible social class.
Earning respect and walking tall is the beginning of real ambition in a world of endless judgments and criticism.
Having a healthy self-awareness and high confidence becomes the foundation for building a great project.
To leave friends, family, and loved ones behind to throw oneself into a new, constructive, and exciting personal journey.
Dreams make life better, and being able to realize them is a great panacea.
Investing in freedom of choice and thought by unhinging prejudices and gratuitous wickedness that bring only sorrows.
Culture is a favorable lever that catapults one’s expectations into tangible ends.
Even doing what we do not like at first may seem absurd, but it is a sign of maturity and then give ourselves 100% on what we want to do.
We exist only in a limited amount of time, and we have to do our best to give ourselves then the luxury of having done it.

Rossi of passion, Vale forever

In the unprecedented Grand Prix of Andalusia ( Jerez, Spain ) both for the COVID -19 and for the exclusion after the operation of Marc Marquez still convalescing, a young promise of 41 candles named Valentino Rossi shows up once again.
World Championships won: 9 Races played: 403
Races won: 115 Pole position: 65
At his venerable age, he amazes those who follow him in every sense, to reaffirm himself for those who have always believed in him.
A man who no longer has anything to prove, he continues to have fun and enjoy himself despite the divorce anticipated by the official Yamaha.
As for the home of the three Diapason logo, the guy from Pesaro will almost certainly be a driver in 2021 in the competitive team of Petronas customers.
In the last five years after the exploit of 2015 with the world championship lost at the last race in Valencia, starting last – due to a penalty trimmed in the previous Grand Prix in Sepang – “the doctor” fell in a limbo made of technical problems and unexpected misfortunes. The last victory dated back to the Assen GP in 2017.
There is no question of talent, charisma, and the ability to transform and perfect a bike, not even considering that in the transition from the dominant Honda to Yamaha in 2004, he managed to win with a bike that until then had been poor performance.
It is the short story of an almost unrepeatable legendary career established only by his colleague Marc Marquez but with a very different story made of risky choices made by the Italian rider to defend his competence besieged by criticism made against an invincible rider, without real competitors and a bike like Honda that made almost all unattainable.
Since That time, Valentino Rossi has been the nightmare for the critics, and the dream for his fans, considering that many people have become passionate regarding motorcycling thanks to his communicative skills, worthing in 2005 the honorary degree in “Communication and advertising for organizations” at the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Urbino.
This podium “Vale” as a victory and gives excellent teaching of awareness in their means and perseverance that exceeds in every sense the age limits that are indicated only at the registry office but not yet in the speedometer that marks the maximum rpm of the engine, enthusiasm, passion, and pride to be still the number 46 most famous in the world and the number 1 in the supporters of those who want to become champion in motorcycles, in life and in the joy of still achieving unexpected results but achievable with the desire of a young boy who pursues the dream that he has already realized, but wants to make it unique in the time limit of this life to overtake at crazy speed as in a motorcycle race.

Becoming authentic

Becoming authentic

Many people identify and focus their attention on famous and successful people.
The fulfillment and achievement of a project spring up and stirs up fascinating souls of such self-affirmation in society.
The emulation towards the other implies more security and willingness to turn the spotlight in the shortest possible time.
However, is everything right what there showing us?
There is a lot of work and sweat behind every success in life, but in most cases, the appearance risks inserting a trap challenging to interpret.
The projection of ourselves towards others accelerates our personality’s change but leaves a void within us that does not belong to us.
Working on ourselves involves a more significant effort, but only in this way can we become authentic.
Expression in social life unconsciously shows an inevitable part of us.
We need the other to fill our lives, but we need ourselves to make reliable what we want to be.

“Setting” the sails to the wind.

“setting” the sails to the wind.

Do not listen to those around you and make sure you do not give voice to criticism …
Always act on what you feel like doing and choose as freely as you can
Each of us has a path to follow and to build day after day…
In every action, there is a cause and a consequence.
Penetrating with your personality, you will face adverse winds and stormy seas, with the knowledge that your boat will not remain safe in the harbor, but will have to face the bad weather of life always sailing with the sighs and winds of breeze that gradually increase wherever you look for happiness, seeing the land closer and closer to you …
If you go far away, it will only count how close you can get to the goal by asking yourself the maximum effort and the minimum threshold of errors.
Only in this way you can ride the waves of success and make the loneliness of the ocean a friend so that you can see the dawn of tomorrow arriving at the noon of pleasure.

Change.we can, we must

Children’s naivety should be the lighthouse of our lives, but the rudeness and ignorance of many lead us to be debunked.
We must reorganize ourselves somehow, and through respect for others and ourselves, it is urgent to say and affirm that perseverance and culture can give us great satisfaction.
In a world where judgment becomes the shield where everyone protects himself and are not able to see further
The freedom of which Eve was the pioneer, rebelling against mediocrity and banality by letting the person assess their destiny by choosing according to the case’s circumstances.
I protect the dreams that people cultivate and keep in their drawers, which they cannot open because they are afraid of being judged.
Nevertheless, by putting on the line that everything changes.
To eradicate the preconceptions that we are all handcuffed to and give ourselves to the other by becoming better people.
We are all a family that fights daily against the power games. They keep us apart and divided, creating economic gaps between the more extensive social classes, causing envy and indisposition among people who are too rich or too weak.
We will have to give birth to new opportunities for ourselves and others by trying to make our lives worth living.

AOC!! it’s time to stand up all together

When someone tries to tell something like this “a fu***ing b***h” to a woman, you do not deserve to be called a Man . in these eras of disrespect and arrogance, it is time to stand up. We all had enough of hate and oppression against young people that we are called “inexperience.” The inexperience of what? A world that is falling apart from any point of view, thanks to this loser generation, Nowadays, in times of crisis, we have a significant opportunity to face this situation with each other. We are all a big family, but some people are trying to be smarter than us. AOC once again did not accept this kind of behavior and decided to unleash his indisposition. She represents all of us, and she does not deserve this treatment for no reason. When someone starts to be admired and “influential “and tries to change the system, she has to face this kind of problem because there is a price to pay in everything we do.
It is an excellent auspicious to see her more confident because we are all on her side.

“Stay mad, but behave like normal people. Run the risk of being different, but learn to do so without attracting attention.” Paulo Coelho

Without rebellion, there is no form of creativity… to put something new to the test by combining genius with unruliness… The virtue of being crazy and different against the boredom of conformism and politically correct…

The emancipation that wins over Possession

There are certain days so intense that fate or something else decides to play a trick on you and let you live for a few hours what maybe you’ve never seen and felt in your existence.
That day when you feel special and what you do is unique in the same way.
That day when you decide to change yourself and what’s around you…
And maybe it fair that it won’t last forever but only that moment that makes everything more magical…
This, I think, only happens to certain people who seek and eventually find what they have always believed in…
You’ll be remembered for that moment that many people chase for a lifetime.

No choice, no life

The Canto III of Hell shows us a harsh way of how we should not face life.

These damned are those who, during their lives, have never acted either for good or for evil, without ever daring to have an idea of their own, but limiting themselves always to that of the strongest. Among them are also the Angels who did not take sides in the battle that Lucifer lost against God.

Dante inserts them here because he judges them unworthy of deserving both the joys of Paradise and the pains of Hell, because of their not having taken sides neither in favor of good nor in favor of evil. They are forced to walk around naked for eternity chasing a sign – which runs very fast and turns on itself – stung and injured by wasps and flies. Their blood, mixed with their tears, is sucked by annoying worms.

Dante defines these souls as those of sinners “who were never alive.” The poet’s contempt for this category of sinners is maximum and complete. According to the theological point of view, the choice between Good and Evil must be made. From the social point of view, moreover, in the Middle Ages, the political alignment and active life within the Municipality were almost always considered fundamental and inevitable stages in the life of a citizen. According to Dante’s reflection, if the man is a social being, whoever shirks his duties towards society is not worthy of any consideration.

Dante also quotes mysteriously, among the ranks of the Ignatians, the soul of a character who, in life, “made for cowardice the great refusal.” Most scholars of his contemporaries identify this personage with Pope Celestine V (Pietro da Morrone), a hermit who reached the Papal throne in 1294 but considering himself incapable of holding the office of pope, and he renounced his office thus allowing the rise to power of Boniface VIII, a pontiff whom Dante firmly despised. Already from the following century, this interpretation had less consideration among critics. Since then, the identity of the soul of the one who made “the great refusal” has generated a not indifferent problem of interpretation.

So, do you want to be a Writer

if it doesn’t come bursting out of you
in spite of everything,
don’t do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
and your gut,
don’t do it.
if you have to sit for hours
staring at your computer screen
or hunched over your
typewriter
searching for words,
don’t do it.
if you’re doing it for money or
fame,
don’t do it.
if you’re doing it because you want
women in your bed,
don’t do it.
if you have to sit there and
rewrite it again and again,
don’t do it.
if it’s hard work just thinking about doing it,
don’t do it.
if you’re trying to write like somebody
else,
forget about it.
if you have to wait for it to roar out of
you,
then wait patiently.
if it never does roar out of you,
do something else.

if you first have to read it to your wife
or your girlfriend or your boyfriend
or your parents or to anybody at all,
you’re not ready.

don’t be like so many writers,
don’t be like so many thousands of
people who call themselves writers,
don’t be dull and boring and
pretentious, don’t be consumed with self-
love.
the libraries of the world have
yawned themselves to
sleep
over your kind.
don’t add to that.
don’t do it.
unless it comes out of
your soul like a rocket,
unless being still would
drive you to madness or
suicide or murder,
don’t do it.
unless the sun inside you is
burning your gut,
don’t do it.

when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.

there is no other way.

and there never was.

Those of the moon

Those of the moon
Those that when you look at them, you would like to reach them at any time but they seem far away and almost impossible to reach …
Those who illuminate your day even when everything seems dark without blinding you or burning you…
Those who conquer them is a memorable feat…
Those who, if it’s true that you’ve gone there, you’re a hero, or if you tell a false story, you become a scoundrel…
If you look them in the eyes, you can count the craters, the sand, and the seas that flow into the charm and the ripples of life.
Those who need the company of the stars to not be alone and insignificant …
Those who, if it’s darker and brighter, you get…
Like the moon, those who are with their feet close to the earth and do not shine with their own light…
Those of the satellite as a landmark…
Those who then, if you look at them you get there by any means possible…
Despite the darkness of life, those who are always there and will be extinguished until the end of our days and the apocalypse … without disturbing but welcoming the brightest comets of our existence …

Slave of pleasure

Freedom is merely consisting of doing what we want or in the absence of obstacles to getting what we want, that what we think of freedom, but not in Kant’s thought.
Kant has more restrictions and demanding notions about the view to be free.
if we look through, start to be very persuasive:
Kant reasons follow: “When we, like animals, seek after pleasure, or the satisfaction of our desire and the avoidance of pain. When we do that we are acting freely?
Why not?
We start acting as the slaves of those appetites and impulses.

To say no at all costs: by choice, by dignity, by moral stature.

On June 13, 1936, we met on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the Host ship;
Meanwhile, an adoring crowd greets the arrival of Adolf Hitler. All but two of them are still standing.
They are those of August Landmesser.
This gentleman worked at the Blohm+Voss shipyard, and until the last moment, he decided not to submit to the Führer’s wishes.
The story began in 1931 when the man took the National Socialist Party card to get a job, but he soon sensed the movement’s violent drift.
In 1934 Landmesser had fallen in love with a Jewish woman – Irma Eckler – who was immediately married in 1935 (although the marriage was never recognized because Nuremberg’s laws had come into force since August of that year). Daughters Ingrid (1935) and Irene (1937) were unable to take their father’s surname at the behest of the Hamburg City Council and assumed their mother.
Landmesser was accused of “dishonoring the race” and expelled from the party.
In 1937 he tried to flee to Denmark with his family but was blocked at the border.
He was first imprisoned for a short time and freed for continuing his relationship with the woman, provided he did not repeat the crime, and in 1938 he was sentenced to 30 months’ hard labor in a concentration camp. He would never see his wife again, arrested and sent to a concentration camp in Hamburg, before being transferred to two women’s camps: Oranienburg and Ravensbruck. She died in 1942 at the Bernburg Health Institute, where euthanasia was practiced for the mentally ill.
The daughters were placed in the care of relatives.
Released from prison in 1941, Landmesser forced into forced labor.
In 1944 he was enlisted in the Wehrmacht and assigned to the 19th Infantry Criminal Infantry Battalion, consisting of soldiers sentenced by court-martial and common crimes.
On December 20, 1939, the district court of Hamburg-Altona declared Irma dead, indicating April 28, 1942, as the most probable date of her murder, while Rostock’s district court declared August Landmesser dead on August 1, 1949. Only in 1951, the marriage was recognized, and their father’s surname could call the daughters.

war is peace freedom is slavery ignorance is strength

Man is born, grows, reproduces, and dies. It is right for everyone that the mind regenerates and learns through the emotions and experiences of life, which deliver down for generations with the sole task of being saved, advancing oneself and possibly others, and understanding what is right and wrong and of avoiding falling into problems. The mind of man is conditioned and sometimes forced to do certain things without knowing the consequences before taking action. Happens to those who live in a constant habitat of ignorance and wickedness desired or not. In the next century, this will happen. The media and communication mean they will teach an education based on the submission of others, the power of the rich over the poor, the old over the young, creating such a chain, and confusion is impossible to dislocate. Those who behave differently using reason and common sense will remain in the minority, creating social and economic inequality. Those who understand this will use this tool to command and come to power by manipulating the masses. After all, JFK, RFK, MLK, Malcolm X, have tried to tell the truth, Wich brings evil and judgment, which cannot express. They will repress in a world of hypocrisy and falsehood.a life destined not lived because it is imprisoned in the dictatorships of the past still present today.

Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil” – Thomas Mann

Our urgent task!

The whole world agrees that the current situation of armed peace is unsustainable and is gradually becoming impossible. It imposes enormous sacrifices on individual nations, which far exceed the expenditure made for cultural purposes, and without any positive value being derived from it. If then humanity would find the means and the way to eliminate these weapons, it would obtain such an enormous saving of emeritus that, starting from this moment, we will see an unsuspected cultural flowering .the complete renunciation of war, is a logical consequence of the energetic imperative. It is one of the essential tasks of the civilization of our time.

DIJON 1979: THERE IS NO DEFEAT IN THE HEART OF THE FIGHTER.

Dijon July 1st, 1979.
the Renault cars driven by the respective french Jabuille and Arnoux already dominate the weekend at home, bringing the vehicles immediately to the lead in qualifying proving to be the fastest thanks to the innovative modifications studied and delivered Grand Prix of France. The turbocharged cars make the fastest laps on Saturday in qualifying to monopolize the first row chased in third place by the Canadian tightrope walker Gilles Villeneuve.
The wait for the race is over.
With the traffic lights off, Villeneuve immediately takes the lead, followed by Jabuille.
The single-seater of the other Renault -Arnoux driver, start to be revised, lose many positions at the start, and find himself 9th at the end of the initial lap.
However, the French driver did not win and made himself the protagonist of an incredible comeback, overtaking Jones on lap 3, Lauda, and Jarier arriving at the fourth place on lap 11. On lap 15°, he managed to pass the other Ferrari driver of Jody Scheckter, with evident tire problems.
At the 47th lap, Jaboulle overtakes Villeneuve reaching the top of the race, and in a few laps, he manages to build a reassuring advantage over the Ferrari driver who was pissing behind him.
Arnoux, at this point, takes confidence and begins to believe firmly in the second place. A few laps from the end, the hooking up happens, and Arnoux and Villeneuve – the latter in crisis with the brakes – decide to blur Jabuille’s leadership now alone towards the victory.
In the last three laps, the two drivers give life to an anthology duel, overtaking at the limit, braking with smoking wheels, and cornering contacts at the regulation boundaries.
Jabuille wins the race, but this race will not be remembered for his victory but the unforgettable Leonine fight between the two contenders for second place. With nails and teeth, Villeneuve manages to grab the second position, proving that talent and courage always manage to be superior to a patched car.
Villeneuve gives a lesson of tenacity and confidence in his means showing how the limit dictated by reality can be crossed with imagination.
As Walt Disney said, if you can dream it, you can do it.

leadership, an example, a new way to live

In those 13 days of October, we did not sleep. We thought that whoever won the war was the strongest like children we had the chance to blow up the whole world missiles were leaving a bit from Cuba 🇨🇺 or Turkey 🇹🇷as if after the nukes in Japan, 🇯🇵 the world had not had enough destruction violence and hatred. However, that night between the 28th and 29th October, someone told us that after all, we all live in the same land to love and respect each other in a limited time .enemies that should not exist but an opportunity to grow together and share joys that day we decided not to be men but an example for future generations and our children and grandchildren it could have been different, but it was so for the good of all.
From this moment on you should build something beautiful… #peace

the beginning of a new era

The symbol of the sin of disobedience, freedom, and knowledge that rebels against the status quo of mediocrity and living waiting for something to change and someone to do it for us in the compromise between good and evil that makes the ego and personality of each one of us, flourish against the adversities of those who want us, slaves, without future and happiness

The hope of when all seems lost rises again in the darkness of despair and the fear of not making it.

When willpower seems to be lacking, I always think back to Abraham Lincoln’s life. A formidable example of tenacity. He never gave up even when everything seemed to be conspiring against him.
He was born in misery, and his life was always hard, marked by constant defeats. He lost eight elections, failed twice in business. He had a nervous breakdown.
He could have quit, but he never did, never. He eventually became one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. It is a beautiful example of how you never give up.
The dates that mark the path of his life:
1816 – His family is evicted. He must work to support them.
1818 – His mother dies.
1831 – She fails in business.
1832 – He runs for state parliament: defeated.
1832 – He also loses his job: he wants to enter the law school but is not admitted.
1833 – Borrows money from a friend to start a business and, at the end of the year, is already bankrupt. He will spend the next seventeen years of his life repaying the debt.
1834 – He runs for state parliament: elected.
1835 – He gets engaged, but his betrothed dies.
1836 – He has a severe nervous breakdown and remains in bed for six months.
1838 – He tries to become a delegate voter, but is defeated.
1843 – He runs for the U.S. Congress. He is defeated.
1846 – He runs for Congress again, gets elected, goes to Washington and does a good job.
1848 – He runs for re-election to Congress: defeated.
1849 – Applies to become a state administrator of his state. He is rejected.
1854 – He runs for U.S. Senate, defeated.
1856 – He seeks candidacy for his party’s national congress vice-president. Gets less than a hundred votes.
1858 – Running again for U.S. Senate. Again defeated.
1860 – Elected President of the United States. #lincoln

john rawls :a theory of justice for common freedom and meritocracy-

Neoliberism

An essential trait of the neoliberal ideology that marks the passage from “left-wing” to “right-wing” liberalism is the value and meaning given to social injustice.
One of the objectives of the governments of the previous liberalism was social justice, where the concept of justice could not be separated from that of equity (it is the idea of John Rawls, justice as equity) and equality (social equality is one of the significant demands of the movement of ’68).
Neoliberalism consolidates an idea of justice as freedom, where fairness and equality are not only objectives in themselves, but would even be negative features of social organization, as they would undermine the principles of competition, the pursuit of excellence, meritocracy that would be the basis of individual “virtuous” behavior that leads to the welfare of society.

the future that doesn’t belong to you

The future that does not belong to you … when the present puts you only one choice, the evil, after the good has not led you anywhere, only to waste time and “faticà” as they say in Naples Work … work national problem, but that does not deal, and you do not deal in the same way… black and white for a life that does not exist for you and for others … to be rebuilt or thrown away like a key in the cell for those who are convinced to overcome violence over honesty and cowardice over the virtue of being a Man #Arturo #Paranza

Motivational today

A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step .
Let us take that first step . Let us, if we can , step back from the shadows of war and seek out the way of peace . And if that journey is a thousand miles , or even more , let history record that we , in this land , at this time , took the first step ..
All this will not be finished in the first one hundred days. Nor will it be finished in the first one thousand days . . .nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet.
BUT LET US BEGIN !!

juneteenth:a day to celebrate

#Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation – which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance.

Who is the real “Layla”? – the muse of Rock -10 Songs Written About Pattie Boyd

Pattie Boyd was working as a model and actress in the early 1960s when she was cast as a schoolgirl in Richard Lester’s A Hard Day’s Night (1964). Though she had just a single word of dialogue—”Prisoners?“—it was the role that changed her life, as it was on the set of that classic Beatles movie that she met George Harrison, and began a journey that would lead to her becoming one of the most important muses in rock and roll history.

Harrison and Boyd married two years later, but the beloved Beatle wasn’t the only iconic rock star who was vying for Boyd’s attention, and putting pen to paper to craft songs about her. Guitar deity Eric Clapton, one of Harrison’s best friends, also fell madly in love with Boyd, and wrote much of Derek and the Dominos’ 1970 album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, about Boyd and his forbidden love.

Boyd and Harrison eventually divorced in 1977, but not before she had a brief fling with future Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood. In 1979, Clapton got his Layla when he and Boyd married, though even that didn’t last. The couple divorced a decade later, and in 2015, Boyd married for a third time—to property developer Rod Weston, whom she had met in the late 1980s. Weston, as far as anyone knows, is neither a songwriter nor an instrumentalist. But the string of hits that Boyd inspired are still some of the most iconic songs in music history.

“I Need You” was only the second song written by Harrison to make it onto a Beatles album, which in this case was 1965’s Help! Notably, during the February 15, 1965 recording session, Ringo Starr played on the back of an acoustic guitar while John Lennon played the snare drum on beats two and four throughout the track.

2. THE BEATLES // “SOMETHING” (1969)

Harrison grew as a songwriter between Help! and 1969’s Abbey Road, during which his tunes were clearly about police (“Piggies”), the government (“Think For Yourself”, “Taxman”), or generally about the human condition (of “I Want to Tell You,” Harrison said that it was about “the avalanche of thoughts that are so hard to write down or say or transmit.”). However Harrison, according to Boyd, said “Something” was about her in a “matter-of-fact way.” In her memoir, Wonderful Tonight, Boyd also revealed that Harrison’s favorite cover of the song—of which there are hundreds—was James Brown’s. Her favorite version was George’s, when he played it for her in their kitchen. In 1980, Harrison said that he had first written “Something” on the piano during the making of The Beatles (a.k.a. The White Album).

3. THE BEATLES // “FOR YOU BLUE” (1970)

Harrison would, predictably, only have one sentence to say about his Let It Be contribution. “‘For You Blue’ is a simple 12-bar song following all the normal 12-bar principles, except that it’s happy-go-lucky!” Still, it’s widely considered to be about Boyd. Lennon used a shotgun shell as his slide when he played the lap steel guitar on this song.

4. DEREK AND THE DOMINOS // “LAYLA” (1970)

Clapton used Derek and the Dominos’ lone studio album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, as a more than 77-minute declaration of love to Pattie Boyd Harrison. The name “Layla” came from the fifth-century Arabian poem-turned-book The Story of Layla and Majnun, adapted by Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi. A mutual friend gave copies to both Clapton and Boyd. It was about forbidden love. Clapton secretly met with Boyd one afternoon in a South Kensington flat and played the song for her off of his tape machine. Boyd wrote that it was “the most powerful, moving song I had ever heard” and noted that Clapton had identified with Majnun and was determined to know how she felt. Boyd went home to Harrison, at least on that day.

5 AND 6. RONNIE WOOD // “MYSTIFIES ME” (1974) AND “BREATHE ON ME” (1975)

“Mystifies Me” was on Wood’s solo record I’ve Got My Own Album to Do, while he was still a member of the band Faces, and was released one year before he joined the Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, along with George Harrison, helped with some of the writing and performing). Wood had “sort of a warped rock star wife swap” in which he had an affair with Boyd and Harrison had an affair with Wood’s first wife, Krissie Findley. Wood wrote in his autobiography that he had actually “pinched” Findley from Eric Clapton to begin with, further complicating things, and knew full well Clapton was in love with Boyd. Wood and Boyd enjoyed a holiday in the Bahamas.

“Breathe on Me” was released on Wood’s next solo album, Now Look, and reimagined on his 1992 effort Slide on This. Harrison and Wood would later joke about the wife swapping.

7. GEORGE HARRISON // “SO SAD” (1974)

“So Sad,” off of Harrison’s 1974 album Dark Horse, is regarded as the only Harrison work about the marital problems between him and Boyd. The album was released the same year they separated; their divorce was finalized in 1977.

8. ERIC CLAPTON // “WONDERFUL TONIGHT” (1977)

Clapton and Boyd eventually got together. In her book, Boyd recalled one incident in which she spent hours deciding on which dress to wear for a night out, while Clapton waited in the other room, playing his guitar all the while. Inspired by the country singer Don Williams, who wrote “beautifully simple” lyrics about quotidian events, Clapton came up with the chorus to “Wonderful Tonight” while he waited. When Boyd finally came downstairs and asked him if she looked alright, he played her what he had just written.

9. ERIC CLAPTON // “SHE’S WAITING” (1985)

“She’s Waiting” was released on 1985’s Behind the Sun, an album Warner Bros. forced Clapton to tinker with a bit because his initial interpretation of the project was not commercial enough for the record company. “They said it had no singles and no relevance to anything else that was out there, and I needed to wake up and get with what’s going on,” Clapton remembered. Since the song was released one year after Clapton and Boyd separated, and features the lyrics, “She’s waiting for another love” and “Get ready now, ‘cause pretty soon/She’ll be gone and you’ll be on your own” have strongly indicated to rock critics that it’s about Mrs. Boyd-Harrison-Clapton.

10. ERIC CLAPTON // “OLD LOVE” (1989)

Clapton and Boyd officially divorced in 1988. In a letter from New York, Clapton wrote to Boyd saying he was working on an album (Journeyman) with Harrison and had written a song about her. “I think it will be the best one on the album,” he claimed. “It’s called ‘Old Love,’ don’t be offended, it’s not about you being old, it’s about love getting old, and it’s great, well, you’ll see it when you hear it.” In 2008, Boyd told The Guardian she didn’t think it was so awesome. “The end of a relationship is a sad enough thing, but to then have Eric writing about it as well. It makes me more sad, I think, because I can’t answer back.”

The Power of non-violence

The Power of Nonviolence Martin Luther King Jr.

From the very beginning, there was a philosophy undergirding the Montgomery boycott, the philosophy of nonviolent resistance. There was always the problem of getting this method over because it didn’t make sense to most of the people in the beginning. We had to use our mass meetings to explain nonviolence to a community of people who had never heard of the philosophy and, in many instances, were not sympathetic to it. We had meetings twice a week on Mondays and on Thursdays, and we had an institute on nonviolence and social change. We had to make it clear that nonviolent resistance is not a method of cowardice. It does resist. It is not a method of stagnant passivity and deadening complacency. The nonviolent resister is just as opposed to the evil that he is standing against as the violent resister, but he resists without violence. This method is nonaggressive physically but powerfully aggressive spiritually.

NOT TO HUMILIATE BUT TO WIN OVER

Another thing that we had to get over was the fact that the nonviolent resister does not seek to humiliate or defeat the opponent but to win his friendship and understanding. This was always a cry that we had to set before people that our aim is not to defeat the white community, not to humiliate the white community, but to win the friendship of all of the persons who had perpetrated this system in the past. The end of violence or the aftermath of violence is bitterness. The aftermath of nonviolence is reconciliation and the creation of a beloved community. A boycott is never an end within itself. It is merely a means to awaken a sense of shame within the oppressor, but the end is reconciliation; the end is redemption.

Then we had to make it clear also that the nonviolent resister seeks to attack the evil system rather than individuals who happen to be caught up in the system. And this is why I say from time to time that the struggle in the South is not so much the tension between white people and Negro people. The fight is preferably between justice and injustice, between the forces of light and the forces of darkness. And if there is a victory, it will not be a victory merely for fifty thousand Negroes. But it will be a victory for justice, a victory for goodwill, a victory for democracy.

Another essential thing we had to get over is that nonviolent resistance is also an internal matter. It avoids not only external violence or external physical violence but also domestic violence of spirit. And so at the center of our movement stood the philosophy of love. The attitude that the only way to ultimately change humanity and make for the society that we all long for is to keep love at the center of our lives. Now people used to ask me from the beginning what do you mean by love and how is it that you can tell us to love those persons who seek to defeat those persons who stand against us and us; how can you like such persons? And I had to make it clear all along that love in its highest sense is not a sentimental sort of thing, not even an affectionate

sort of thing.

AGAPE LOVE

The Greek language uses three words for love. It talks about eros. Eros is a sort of aesthetic appreciation. It has come to us to be a sort of romantic love, and it stands with all of its beauty. But when we speak of loving those who oppose us, we’re not talking about eros. The Greek language talks about philia, and this is a sort of reciprocal love between personal friends. This is a vital, valuable love. But when we speak of loving those who oppose you and those who seek to defeat you, we are not talking about eros or philia. The Greek language comes out with another word, and it is agape. Agape is understanding, creative, redemptive goodwill for all men. Biblical theologians would say it is the love of God working in the minds of men. It is an overflowing love, which seeks nothing in return. And when you come to love on this level, you begin to love men not because they are likable, not because they do things that attract us, but because God loves them, and here we love the person who does the evil deed while hating the deed that the person does. It is the type of love that stands at the center of the movement that we are trying to carry on in the Southland-agape.

SOME POWER IN THE UNIVERSE THAT WORKS FOR JUSTICE

I am quite aware of the fact that there are persons who believe firmly in nonviolence who do not believe in a personal God, but I think every person who believes in nonviolent resistance believes somehow that the universe in some form is on the side of justice. That there is something unfolding in the world whether one speaks of it as an unconscious process, or whether one speaks of it as some unmoved mover, or whether someone speaks of it as a persol1al God. There is something in the universe that unfolds for justice, and so in Montgomery, we felt somehow that as we struggled, we had cosmic companionship. And this was one of the things that kept the people together, the belief that the universe is on the side of justice.

God grant that as men and women all over the world struggle against evil systems, they will struggle with love in their hearts, with understanding goodwill. Agape says you must go on with wise restraint and calm reasonableness, but you must keep moving. We have a great opportunity in America to build here a great nation, a nation where all men live together as brothers and respect the dignity and worth of all human personality. We must keep moving toward that goal. I know that some people are saying we must slow up. They are writing letters to the North, and they are appealing to white people of goodwill, and to the Negroes saying slow up, you’re pushing too fast. They are saying we must adopt a policy of moderation. Now, if reduction means moving on with wise restraint and calm reasonableness, then moderation is a great virtue that all men of goodwill must seek to achieve in this tense period of transition. But if fairness means slowing up in the movement for justice and capitulating to the whims and caprices of the guardians of the deadening status quo, then moderation is a tragic vice, which all men of goodwill must condemn. We must continue to move on. Our self-respect is at stake; the prestige of our nation is at

stake. Civil rights is an eternal moral issue which may well determine the destiny of our civilization in the ideological struggle with communism. We must keep moving with wise restraint and love and with proper discipline and dignity.

THE NEED TO BE “MALADJUSTED”

Modern psychology has a word that is probably used more than any other name. It is the word “maladjusted.” Now we all should seek to live a well-adjusted life in order to avoid neurotic and schizophrenic personalities. But there are some things within our social order to which I am proud to be maladjusted and to which I call upon you to be maladjusted. I never intend to adjust myself’ to segregation and discrimination. I never mean to improve myself to mob rule. I never intend to change myself to the tragic effects of the methods of physical violence and to disastrous militarism. I call upon you to be maladjusted to such things. I call upon you to be as maladjusted as Amos, who, in the midst of the injustices of his day, cried out in words that echo across the generation, “Let judgment run down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.” As maladjusted as Abraham Lincoln, who had the vision to see that this nation could not exist half slave and half free. As maladjusted as Jefferson, who in the midst of an age amazingly adjusted to slavery could cry out, “All men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” As maladjusted as Jesus of Nazareth, who dreamed a dream of the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man, God grant that we will be so maladjusted that we will be able to go out and change our world and our civilization. And then we will be able to move from the bleak and desolate midnight of man’s inhumanity to man to the bright and glittering daybreak of freedom and justice.

The Irish God : Rory Gallagher

Any time fans or critics are asked to pick the most influential and innovative guitarists in rock history, iconic names such as Eric Clapton and Queen’s Brian May invariably crop up. But if you asked those legends which guitar god they respect the most; chances are they’ll cite Rory Gallagher.

Clapton once told the BBC that Gallagher should be credited with “getting me back into the blues,” while in the film What’s Going On: Taste At The Isle Of Wight, Brian May says, “I bought this little AC30 amp and Rangemaster Treble Booster, just like Rory’s set up, and plugged in my home-made guitar with it. It gave me what I wanted, it made the guitar speak, so it was Rory that gave me my sound.”

May and Clapton are just two of numerous luminaries who have keenly expressed their admiration for the trailblazing Irish guitarist, bandleader, and singer-songwriter. He died aged only 47 in 1995. Still, Rory Gallagher’s music continues to cast a long shadow over rock’n’roll, with fretboard wizards from successive generations, among them U2’s The Edge and Guns N’ Roses’ Slash, singing his praises.

For starters, while The Beatles may have impacted on the nation’s youth, Ireland had no bona fide rock stars in the mid-60s. When Gallagher formed his initial power trio, Taste, in 1966, the country’s rural venues were still being rocked by the showbands – in effect, the highly efficient covers outfits of their day.

Yet the young, idealistic, blues-loving Gallagher broke that mold, with his work ethic, self-penned material and incendiary live shows building his band’s reputation from the Shandon Boat Club, in Cork, to London’s famous Marquee, and eventually brokering a deal with Polydor. This dedication led to hit albums such as On The Boards and prestigious shows with Cream at London’s Royal Albert Hall and at the 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival alongside The WhoJimi HendrixThe Doors, and Free.

Chinese Bamboo Tree

I don’t know if you’ve heard this story about the Chinese Bamboo Tree before now but this is one of those lessons that really sticks with you.  The Chinese Bamboo Tree teaches us success lessons on patience, faith, perseverance, growth & development and most surprising of all… human potential!

Like any plant, growth of the Chinese Bamboo Tree requires nurturing – water, fertile soil, sunshine. In its first year, we see no visible signs of activity. In the second year, again, no growth above the soil. The third, the fourth, still nothing. Our patience is tested and we begin to wonder if our efforts (caring, water, etc.) will ever be rewarded.

And finally in the fifth year – behold, a miracle! We experience growth. And what growth it is! The Chinese Bamboo Tree grows 80 feet in just six weeks!

But let’s be serious, does the Chinese Bamboo Tree really grow 80 feet in six weeks? Did the Chinese Bamboo Tree lie dormant for four years only to grow exponentially in the fifth? Or, was the little tree growing underground, developing a root system strong enough to support its potential for outward growth in the fifth year and beyond? The answer is, of course, obvious. Had the tree not developed a strong unseen foundation it could not have sustained its life as it grew. The same principle is true for people. People, who patiently toil towards worthwhile dreams and goals, building strong character while overcoming adversity and challenge, grow the strong internal foundation to handle success, while get-rich- quickers and lottery winners usually are unable to sustain unearned sudden wealth.

Had the Chinese Bamboo Tree farmer dug up his little seed every year to see if it was growing, he would have stunted the Chinese Bamboo tree’s growth as surely as a caterpillar is doomed to a life on the ground if it is freed from its struggle inside a cocoon prematurely. The struggle in the cocoon is what gives the future butterfly the wing power to fly, just as tension against muscles as we exercise strengthen our muscles, while muscles left alone will soon atrophy.

Can we stay focused and continue to believe in what we are doing even when we don’t see immediate results? In a culture driven by instant gratification – this is our biggest challenge.

We often tell each other (and our children), remember to “Keep trying! and NEVER give up!” The change may be slow – even invisible at times – but suddenly, as in the case of the Chinese Bamboo Tree, we will surprise ourselves.

Keep your faith in this important work.

We live in a quick-fix society. We get frustrated if we have to wait more than 2 minutes for service or a stop light to change. We want instant solutions to every complex problem and every fractured relationship. In short – we want it all now! Maybe its time to reflect on an old, old poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow that is as true today as it was when he wrote it over 100 years ago:

“The heights by great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
But they, while their companions slept,
Toiled ever upward through the night.”

Final Lesson From The Chinese Bamboo Tree

Yet, all of this requires one thing – faith. The growers of the Chinese Bamboo Tree have faith that if they keep watering and fertilizing the ground, the tree will break through. Well, you must have the same kind of faith in your bamboo tree, whether it is to run a successful business, win a Pulitzer Prize, raise well-adjusted children, or what have you. You must have faith that if you keep making the calls, honing your craft, reading to your children, reaching out to your spouse or asking for donations, that you too will see rapid growth in the future.

This is the hard part for most of us. We get so excited about the idea that’s been planted inside of us that we simply can’t wait for it to blossom. Therefore, within days or weeks of the initial planting, we become discouraged and begin to second guess ourselves, or worse, quit.

Sometimes, in our doubt, we dig up our seed and plant it elsewhere, in hopes that it will quickly rise in more fertile ground. We see this very often in people who change jobs every year or so. We also see it in people who change organizations and even spouses in the pursuit of greener pastures. More often than not, these people are greatly disappointed when their Chinese bamboo tree doesn’t grow any faster in the new location.

Other times, people will water the ground for a time but then, quickly become discouraged. They start to wonder if it’s worth all of the effort. This is particularly true when they see their neighbors having success with other trees. They start to think, “What am I doing trying to grow a Chinese bamboo tree? If I had planted a lemon tree, I’d have a few lemons by now.” These are the people who return to their old jobs and their old ways. They walk away from their dream in exchange for a “sure thing.”

Sadly, what they fail to realize is that pursuing your dream is a sure thing if you just don’t give up. So long as you keep watering and fertilizing your dream, it will come to fruition, just like the Chinese Bamboo Tree. It may take weeks. It may take months. It may even take years, but eventually, the roots will take hold and your Chinese bamboo tree will grow. And when it does, it will grow in remarkable ways.

We’ve seen this happen so many times. Henry Ford had to water his Chinese Bamboo Tree through five business failures before he finally succeeded with the Ford Motor Company. Another great bamboo grower was the legendary jockey Eddie Arcaro. Arcaro lost his first 250 races as a jockey before going on to win 17 Triple Crown races and 554 stakes races for total purse earnings of more than $30 million.
